    Maximus - Jeep Gladiator LE

I don't. Although it'd be nice to keep dust out, having stuff in containers seems to work.

When does cost of a vehicle to build matter to you?

From the picture below you'll know I'm biased, but like you it wasn't so much about if I could turn an inexpensive 4x4 into what I wanted, but if I wanted to spend my time doing that. At this point in my life I would rather spend my time adventuring around than doing necessary upgrades/repairs...

    Maximus - Jeep Gladiator LE

Here's a few pictures from a quick overnight my wife and I took after dropping our daughter off at college. We had very little gear with us since the bed was packed with our daughter's stuff. One container with the kitchen bits in it and one cooler. We also had some rain, but you can see how...

    Maximus - Jeep Gladiator LE

I'm about to be an empty nester - so when we got rid of the beater van that my kids were beating the crap out of...I mean driving, I got the new truck, the wife got my Cherokee and the kids got her sedan. So definitely just a setup for the wife and I and maybe two bulldogs if I get my way.

    Maximus - Jeep Gladiator LE

Back in April I ordered my Launch Edition Gladiator as soon as the site came up for their "concierge" service. About the end of June I it finally arrived. I don't have immediate plans for changing suspension or tire size as I'd like to experience the factory setup and see what limitations it has...

    MVUM vs USFS on Gaia

That video helped answer some questions. Thanks for the heads-up. So much content on Youtube nowadays its hard to keep up and find everything.

Where did you install your OB emblem?

Right next to the Launch Edition badge on the Gladiator...

    MVUM vs USFS on Gaia

Gotcha... I see a NeoTreks Land Use layer that shows BLM. That opens things up quite a bit.

    MVUM vs USFS on Gaia

That's what it appears to be. When people talk about "finding" camping spots, where are they talking about, as it seems there isn't much to "find" when you know you can camp on either side of whatever road is shown on the MVUM. Maybe I'm confused on how one goes about "overlanding." I want to...

    MVUM vs USFS on Gaia

Ok, newbie question. So I'm planning my first day trip to learn a bit and see what is nearby. My question is about legal roads to use. In the first picture below you'll see a Gaia map where I've got two layers active, the Motor Vehicle Use Map and the USFS map. You'll notice a road labeled "4WD"...

    Exposed Fridge Cooler?

Thanks - I'll just plan on getting the Elements cooler or developing a containment option to hold the cooler on a slide.

    Exposed Fridge Cooler?

As I plan my build for my Gladiator, I was wondering if it is ok to have the fridge coolers in the bed of the truck. Planned on having it in the back right next to the outlet there. It looks like ARB sells an "Elements" fridge that is ok to be exposed, but I was wondering if a normal plastic one...

    Back in the saddle(?)

I agree. After the first set of tires wear out I think I'll go to 35s, but at the moment I don't plan on doing more than that since it'd require a lift kit and re-gearing. It'd just be money spent on something that already functions for where I plan to start. Mostly my money will be spent on...

    Back in the saddle(?)

Yeah, I'm trying to be sensible. First purchase was to enable some light duty day trips with peace of mind. So air up/down gear, tire repair, traction boards, GPS to support Gaia on my iPad. I'd like to have an ARB compressor in the engine bay connected to one of the Aux switches but man that's...

    Back in the saddle(?)

The wife, kids, and I used to go out often but in the past handful of years we've had our heads down with work, building a house, and kids getting through high school. After preparing to send our oldest to college, knowing our second is one year behind her, my wife and I looked at each other and...
