    2020 Military Trailer Build

It's 100% steel, so it is heavy around 2000 lb fully packed. The nice thing is, it is very sturdy, low maintenance and it will last for ever (and it's bear proof). The JKU has no issues pulling it, as it feels like any other load trailer. The Timbren Axles make the trailer ride very smooth both...

    2020 Military Trailer Build

The rain and cold weather has subsided and I finely got some trailer time in. Here are my latest updates.. Notice the cabinet on the left. There is a table attached in the storage position. The table can be removed and attached to the side of the trailer. We decided to go with the MOLLE set...

Hi Brian, Welcome to Overland Bound!! Looks like we are not far from each other. I live just up the way off of Taylors Ferry Road. Browns Camp is a great place to get some mud on your Tacoma, just let me know when you are ready. If you see a dirty red JK named FireFly or a white YJ with big...

The Beginning is the End is the Beginning (The continuing journey of the “Adventure Machine”)

I'm with you on this crazy weather. It seem the nice clear days fly by on the days I work, then it rains on the day I have off. Sadness.

Here are some recent photos. I built the tire rack so that it will swing down to open the door. I may change this later. I found a good deal on this used roof rack and it fits so good. Now I will start work on the inside..

    2020 Military Trailer Build

    2020 Military Trailer Build

We sold the rooftop tent, removed the the ladder rack and.... ... bought a (very yellow) truck camper top :). The plan is to make this into an overland version of a 'teardrop' camper. The side door will access kitchen area. The other side will be for accessing camping gear. Unlike the...

    2020 Military Trailer Build

I replaced the solid axle with two independent Timbren axles from eTrailer. eTrailer provided a lot of detailed measurements, so It was easy to get the right combination of components to fit the trailer. The rubber pad in the hinge of the axle works like a spring and shock all-in-one. The...
