OB Approved How to make a great fire starter

I really like the candle idea! I hadn’t thought of that one. I’m gonna have to add some to the kit.

    Tire size info

You are correct. No two manufactures will be the same. There’s just too much variation in the manufacturing process. But this definitely gets you in the ballpark and helps in the decision making process. It helped me determine I needed to do a Norcal tuck on the Silverado’s front fenders to...

    Southeastern Michigan (Downriver)

I know I'm late to the thread but I figured I'd add another shop to the list. I had Diversified Creations in Brighton work on my Silverado. They did a great job installing my BDS lift. http://diversifiedcreations.com

OB Approved How to make a great fire starter

I've been using cotton balls and vaseline for as long as I can remember and this combo has never failed me. That and a bic lighter. I know a lot of people look down on the bic lighter, but in three decades that I've been camping it has never failed me. That being said I do adhere to the old...

$900 1980 Ford F250 - Budget Build - The best overlander is the one you have

I love this truck! I used to have a 90 F150 with the 300 and a manual. I miss that truck a lot. Anyway I love the budget build mindset you've got. Make it reliable first and the fun stuff second, perfect.

    Silverado 1500 Front Bumper Ideas

The easiest and quickest thing to do is just remove the air dam. On my 1500 Silverado it was held on by two screws and some tabs. Takes about 5 minutes to remove and easily gets you about 4-5" inches of additional clearance.

What do you think are really good tires for most off road ventures

I've been running BFG AT on my trucks for 20+ years. I typically get about 70-80k miles out of a set. I daily drive my trucks about 100 miles to work and back. Run them on the dunes, dirt, in deep Michigan snow, basically all kinds of conditions. I swear by them. Just put a fresh set of...
