Anyone using Garmin GLO and iPad with OnX?

I already have 2 iPads , 1 is a gen 6 mini which would be great in my Jeep [2005 LJ with no fancy touch screens]. They are both wifi only and I have had good results with OnX, but I want a bigger screen.
I have looked and I can get the Garmin GLO 2 for about $120, I don't love that it's an extra device to manage, mount , and keep charged, but the other solution seems to be sell and replace the iPad which will cost a lot more.
Anyone have experience with this or a similar setup?

I use an iPad with the GLO, works great but the GLO is very heat sensitive so you need to put a sun deflector above it if its in direct sunlight.

As for OnX, I use four different navigation tools and they all work with this system.

Thanks for the reply, my LJ has a soft top, I was thinking of mounting it on the top of the windshield frame [sort of by the sun visor] do you think it will get signal through the soft top or does it need to be under the windshield ?

Absolutely it will. For instance the Wranglers and Gladiators the XM/GPS receiver is on top of the roll bar just above the passenger seat and it get signal through the fiberglass top.

OK, got through this navigation stuff, sortof. I looked on Amazon for this gear, looks like it will run about a grand to get everything in my truck and off road ready.

Question; has anyone really gotten lost in North America? How did you (they) survive off road in say........1985? Tell me why we need (NEED) this?

Thanks, I ballparked on Amazon with new stuff. I think we have 3 iPads and 4 laptops around. Is that an annual or monthly subscription, I haven't seen that at all.

How do these work on the streets?

Again, I'm never lost, just might be disorientated.
