It was great seeing everyone at the Bastrop meet, lunch, menorial and after at his local spot. The memorial was was really well done and it was great to finally meet his family and other friends. Rex left a lasting impression of love and compassion with so many people and his ability to enjoy all of what life has to offer. Rex you will be missed by so many of us that you have touched and I as well as so many other will try to carry your torch with us through life tell we join you. By
Rex was one of the first people I met when joining OB. He and his good friend Tommy invited me to camp at Oxford Ranch and drive the Hill Country loop. Over the years we got to camp all across Central Texas, Big Bend, and New Mexico. He introduced me to some of my favorite spots and would regularly make his Dutch oven cobbler. When I drove an electric pickup he would regularly joke that I would need to find a cactus to plug into. He was someone I was proud to call my friend. I hope you all continue to share your stories and keep his memory alive.
