I don't build too many fires while out camping but some might find this useful.
 

I don't build too many fires while out camping but some might find this useful.
It is an interesting idea, but a good splitting hatchet would do the same job, at 1/2 of the cost. But if you have someone who has never swung an axe or hatchet or is nervous around them, I can see it being useful for smaller wood.
I always carry an axe, they are pretty useful, but they are old friends for me.
 
I wonder how clean my knee cap would split after running into that thing?

Honestly I'm between thoughts on this
Hatchet us much less expensive but the is generally safer, like using hammer and wedge, BUT
Unhook it Immediately when done or one of the kids WILL find a way to land on it head first, no doubt

They'll only make that mistake once....
 
Hmmm, interesting idea. Other than towing, my hitch has been a buffer from the cars behind me not stopping in time. So, maybe this version would work better.
