90degree awning with an awning room. Have you had one?

Weve gone from a 90 degree CVT to a OVS 270 to a 23Zero 270. Our last trip was heavily off road oriented so we dropped down to a Kelty Tarp to try and reduce some weight.

Anyhow, we are potentially if finances hold out heading North in 2026. We are considering an Awning, straight pull with an awning room. We have 3 people and a dog so I thought it may be nice to have some screened outdoor living space.

But in all reality, how big of a PIA is this. We’ve done the 270 with awning Walls, I just thinking a 90 degree awning with a room may be nice to completely close on those cold days and keep the mesquitos out in the wet climates….

I ran the ARB awning with the add on room for a few years. It worked well. The nice part was it was separate with its own roof and floor. No place for bugs to get in. The reason I don't use it is the opening in the back to access your vehicle door wasn't ideal for my set up. In light wind its real noisy. If it had its own poles and could be used as a stand alone also, would be a nice feature. It would stiffen up the material enough so it didn't make noise in the wind.
I agree with the awning wall hassle. I have the 23 zero 270 on my trailer. I only deploy the walls for inclement weather and not if I'm only stopping overnight.
