US West Boz's Blunder: Vehicle Recovery in Hunter-Liggett Area

Not an expert, but I have used my gear. Depending I could see vehicles linked to make a strong recovery point, so an extra vehicle might help. The snatch block can make a pulley system for extra heft. Also - haven\'t seen Hunter Liggett since 1981. Good excuse for a quick peek.
12\" chainsaw
Warn winch
30 ft tow strap
tree saver
2 shackles
2 soft shackles
snatch block
4 boards
Thank you Stephen - much appreciated!

Plan overview - VERY preliminary, will be a work in progress. Please free free to drop in notes and comments as needed, but don't delete anything please.

do u have the coordinates?
35.88115, -121.31863 is the farthest in you can drive. KML file with full route from Gilroy is posted on Rally Point (see "Locations" tab). Will post GPX as well shortly.

I won't be up for any hiking. I hurt an Achilles tendon and it is mending well as I have been resting it since the Black Rock trip and don't want to hurt it again - I have a bunch of trips planned in July through September. I am just starting to exercise on it again with easy walks.

But I have a truck, gear, comms.

Is the '35.88115, -121.31863 is the farthest in you can drive.' the same location as the berms?

Yes

Stephen, it sounds like steep uneven, off camber, loose ground terrain. We can use your inputs/wisdom, but please be careful. I recovered from Achilles on both ankles and I know how painful it is and how long it takes to recover.

Hi Mathew, I’d like to try and get there to help; I can assist with comms and spotting etc. I’d be coming from the south though.. any chance I can join the convoy south? What would your approximate eta in Jolon be?

We'd love to have the help! Let's aim for 7:30am at Jolon. Stay on 146.460 and we'll sync up as we get close. Not familiar with Jolon - but maybe meet at 65500 Jolon Rd, Jolon, CA 93928 - St. Luke's Episcopal Church parking lot?

Hey Mathew. I am sorry; I’m unable to change my work commitments. So I can’t make it… I’ll be cheering you and the team on. Drink lots of water and above all have a smooth and safe recovery!

Sorry I couldn’t make the call guys, work stuff. I’ll dm my number. Happy to help, having used this platform to get myself recovered it’s the least I can do

I would absolutely help you out, unfortunately can't move my work hours. Good luck and if for any reason the truck doesn't come out I am available on Sunday.
