I thought I had posted on here about my build but I was wrong..

My name is Brad. I'm from York, SC, and I have been building up the Jeep for going on two years now. This past year I have been hitting it pretty hard. Im getting prepared for my TransAmerica Trail trip in June of 2017. I purchased my Jeep in November of 2014 and quickly started working on it.

Haha yeah I do too! I've always had jeeps and my dad has also. I really love some of these Tacoma and 4runner builds but I just can't steer away from jeeps.

The RTT is imported just like the majority of other tents. I have always dreamed of starting a shop that offers items at a much affordable price for blue collar workers and it will get people out and exploring! So my first step to my dream job is the tents and awnings. I want to test this out and then if it's doing great then I will start to sell these but I don't want to step on any toes with the forum rules.

The tent sleeps 2-3 people, since I have installed the tent on Black Friday I have been able to set up the tent in 5 minutes or less. I'm very well pleased with the construction so far. I'm going to be doing a couple trips in the next couple months in Georgia and in Kentucky so I will give many updates on everything. I'm also going to be sewing some fleece sheets instead of taking a sleeping bag.

I just can't stand to see equipment with such a high price tag. I totally understand you need to make money but. I'd rather help people out to get what they are wanting and everything will be alright.

I was able to make some fleece sheets for the mattress tonight. They are far from perfect but this was my first time using a sewing machine.

I just need some pillow cases and I'll be set!

Installed the awning last night and opened it up this morning so I could get a better look at it. So far I love the 270 degree part of it. Overall I wish it was a bit longer. It will cover my tailgate and future tailgate table tray. The supporting vertical poles are not built into the frame of the awning which I was hoping it was. I may go to the drawing board and attempt to make my own version of the awning but this will do for now. I also added reflective guy lines for the tent and awning so I won't kill myself at night walking around.

Next on the to do list is continue on with the electrical harness for my switches, build my homemade road shower, and plumb up my onboard water tank that will be inside the storage boxes, and wire up the pump with an outside spigot.

Looks great! I've always been curious about that awning but the price keeps me away. I added some 550 paracord with reflective tracers to my rtt for guylines. Its pretty inexpensive online. I think I ordered mine from www.mrparacord.com

I found some at Home Depot and i can't remember the price but I think it was a roll of 250' not the nice stuff but it will do! I bought this awning with my tent so everything came together. It was a very inexpensive accessory. The mounts I had made were more expensive than the awning so I can't really complain too much. Haha

Can you tell me what brand the awning is? Is it the foxwing?

I have to ask, do you get any glare from the already bright orange hood, when you turn on the light bar being that close to the hood? I would think that would blind a driver?

Scott it's my brand, SELFmade Customs, that I'm wanting to start selling. I want to get first hand experience with it before I begin to sell the tent and the awning. It's been my dream to open a shop that offers affordable offroad and camping equipment. Like Micheal says "it doesn't matter what your drive!" I have been a life long jeep guy but I want to offer universal items along with specific stuff too. But I'm hoping to start selling this stuff in the next few months. I want to do an offroad line which would be under the SMC name and then the camping line would be under the Overland Series side. But I don't want to step on anyone's toes on the forum about the business.
