The 1” grommet in the firewall is completely stuffed. Going to have to rework something if I want to add more.

to make it easier I pulled the terminals out of the connector in the switch legs. 35156415-4D59-497F-B189-32BA45ECB77D.jpegA77EDD04-BF42-4753-8954-383A4B75536C.jpegBA609256-7D76-4CFF-9B20-677ED514E7BB.jpeg815E426D-810D-4163-9835-F62195D7ED54.jpeg806EC92C-317E-453A-9313-6AFD63439179.jpeg

I was looking at used Ford Explorer Police Interceptor Utility last night. Found a couple local with the EcoBeast twin turbo engine that are rebuilt branded title. I dont really want a truck but the Explorer is still based on the old Mazda 6 platform so its really a car. But a good option as it's stripped down no tech features and HD electrical and drivetrain. I pretty sure that all Police models also get EMP shielding.

I drove a sport AWD model as a company car pre virus. It had the twin turbo engine. Because it wasn’t mine, I couldn’t do any mods, like get rid of the ridiculous low profile tires. I took it on a portion of the Enchanted Rockies trail in 2018, the views were awesome, but the washboard road not so much. Finding the interceptor model would be cool.

Funny you mention the tires as thats the size on my OverlandRS 245-55-18 Falken WildPeak Trails. I have seen pics of the interceptors with 31" tall tires on stock wheels and no lift.

While out today, I got a good view of the current pinstripes in the right light.

The price you pay for your adventures I suppose. I wish car wraps were not so expensive. Maybe we should mount push lawn mowers on the front fenders to clear the way.

That's what I call being able to see at night. Good job Rex...now come do mine for me, I'm totally lost when it comes to electrical and with a LRD2 you cant monkey with the electronics much or it will leave you stranded in the boon docks.
I’m lucky with the police package, there are multiple places to pickup power without causing computer gremlins.

I’m not going out of my way to get them, just incidental to my adventures.

One of those Pursuit cars already sold the one with under 10,000 miles. I was hesitant because they were both rebuilt, and I could not find any reviews or information on the 5th Gen Explorer being any more capable offroad than my RS. Those A/T tires look good on the steel PI wheels.

The tires do look like they belong there, for sure.

Finished hard wiring the fridge. I had two 50 amp spare feeds to the rear quarter. I tapped one to use with an inline 20 amp fuse.
