US Southwest Labor Day Run to New Mexico(FULL)

My new company takes the week between Christmas and New Year’s Day off. That week has crossed my mind.
We got to Silver City on the 29th last year. It had snowed A LOT the day before making it impossible to explore the FSRs. It was too cold for us to camp so we just got a room in Silver City for 3 days and hung out at the local brewery.

Looks like we are going to end up doing another big section of the NMBDR
Iv'e wanted to drive that trail for the past year. Have fun and give us a good report on it if you can. One group from NM did top half of it last year and were supposed to do the second half later in the year but I haven't heard any more from them.

I figured we’d hit a potion of it.

I still want to do Chloride Canyon. And some of the Gila NF. Maybe next year.
Let me know if you make it to the Gila next year. I live here on the southern edge near Silver City and would love to join you. There is so many trails in the Gila I'm wanting to travel and will when my health gets a little better and I finish my rig build.

We drove a big portion of the southern part back in May. It will be fun to connect the next portion.

Looks like we should arrive in Cloudcroft on Friday afternoon around 2:30-3pm MST. Plenty of time to fuel up and seek out the first campsite

I filled up in Ruidoso thinking that gas would be higher cloudcroft not the case actually $0.05 cheaper
