2020

Work always seems to occupy too much of my time. I really want to work less and explore more...

I am happy that I just spent 4 days in the mountains, and will start 2020 by meeting some others from OB.
Looks like I will be headed far East in a few weeks but I am sure there are adventures to be found. In Michigan as well.

My goal is to get into Canada and do some exploring this spring/summer.

One of my main goals for the year is to get better at combining work and exploring ... increasing the ways my wandering North America can pay for itself and more.

I often think about that.

Start with attending the N.W. Overland Rally, in Plain, WA - then meander north through the Cascades, into Vancouver, north to Whistler to attend the B.C. Overland Rally. Then the balance of the time driving to Kamloops. There is alot to see in B.C... You could spend a month and not see it all. Kennewick to Kennewick

Last year I actually took all of my PTO instead of just cashing it out. This year i will do the same and try to get more.

Well Mother Nature showed us who was in charge last night a heavy wet snow fall took down the power lines at 7pm.....
and darkness reigned until 3pm.

Over 100 trees across the power lines in 5 miles.
Many thanks to all the BC Hydro crews working last night and New Years Day.

Our dog seems oblivious to our concerns.

That is one thing I wish they would change if they ever do a revamp of the infrastructure....bury the power lines please!

In our case it is that there is only 1 wire in. We are at the end of the extension cord. A grid like the rest of the first world would solve our issue.

Going underground is just a matter of the municipality agreeing to raise taxes to pay for it.... plus likely increased utility rates.

I am really liking @David C Gibbs idea. That would be a pretty epic trip!
