Do you think a stock RAM 1500 4x4 would make it with no issues? I have no mods so far.

Expect cold weather at night. Did this trip in early November for 3 nights, could have used 4. Doing 20 to 30 miles a day seems a little short. Be sure to take a lot of side trails. You'll have to leave the preserve to gas up so plan on that.

We have A propane Heater and Annex for the Heat with Zero degree Sleeping Bags, I expect it will get around 30 Degrees at Night give or Take, Going to go in to Baker for Gas When we cross the Kelso Road. I could be on The trail for 4 Full Days and still back to the Avi to Leave on the 30th of December for Quartzsite, Arizona

OK, I am in. Still checking if my wife can take off work for that time. We can get to AVI casino late Monday night and be ready to roll out Tuesday, December 24th morning at 10:00 am. Do you have a RTT or using a regular tent? We will plan on bringing our tent. We will head home at the end instead of back to Avi. I'll try to DM you with my contact info.

It Rained on Parts of the Trail Last Night on our Way Back from the Goff School House Museum

If you have A/T tires and can air down you should be fine except for maybe Soda lake if its wet.

I am planning to do this trip for new years. I'm curious of the current depth of the river crossing and other road conditions.

From what Info I Have gathered so far, From the AVI to 95 Is in good Shape, From 95 to Fort Paiute is rough and slow going, from Fort Paiute to Lanfair Road is also rough, Small washouts in a few places but drivable,

Could you keep us posted here with a small trail report after the trip. Or even pm me about it. Planning on doing this trip around April. I would love to head out with you all but 5 minions keep me grounded at home during Christmas. Thanks

If it's dry out, you should be fine.. you may run into some issues if the Soda Lake and other areas if it is wet.
Pop for some recovery plates and a shovel, take your time and have fun!

Off Course, Caliper1 is Going out Two weeks before me and he is going to Leave a Report also

I was not thinking of the water crossing.. I went around (my cold air intake would have shoveled up so much water), and would recommend a stock truck do the same. I was thinking more of the Soda Lake. When it gets wet, it's a deep sticky mud pit. There are other places where it could be tricky when it gets muddy.

I don't wanna shanghai the OP. There is tons of info out there on crossing the Mojave at all times of the year.
