Many use Gaia GPS, in fact you can get a discount on the Gaia memberships for being an OB member. Overland Bound Discount | Gaia GPS

I also like to use an app called 'Sygic'. You can download offline maps for your state, as well as others, for road use, then switch to something like Gaia as others have mentioned above for off-road use.

My Garmin has bit the dust, so currently only using Google Maps for most things with Back Country Navigator and Maps.Me for off-line routes.
