Halfmoon Creek, Colorado

Spent sometime up in the Halfmoon Creek area of Colorado last weekend. I've wanted to visit this area for quite awhile and was finally able too.

Champion Mill. I would've liked to check it out put there is a newer gate up along the road so I had to settle for this.







I called it quits here and walked up a little ways, the road continues on to Champion Mine.

Nice little trip. I've been up in that area quite a bit, but never ran that one. I'll have to put it on my list, thanks for sharing it.

When we did that trail a couple years ago we got to a gate and it was posted that it was ok to park and hike up to the mill. One of the coolist trails I have ever done. The other side was absolutly beautiful. Much rougher of a trail but well worth it.

Note; Depending on snow fall and run off this trail (Halfmoon Creek) is usually not doable for mildly built rigs until late July, because of the water crossings.
