Ok step 1, removing the 3rd row seats. Came out pretty easily in less than a half hour. Next step to build the drawers and fold our bed system.

So I've decided I'm going to use these points (where the 3rd row seats were mounted) to mount the cabinet to the body of the 4runner, just for a bit extra stability

I decided to go with 5/8" thick fir plywood for the base. Going to build the cabinet on top. Drilled the holes shown above to mount it to the points corresponding on the body.

Got the basic shell of the cabinet together. This is going to fit really well. Back seats still fit up or down. The cabinet is nice and snug so far. Next step is to build the drawers. I'm going with 24" full extension pullouts. Hopefully going to add some other features to this as well. Will keep you all posted!

Here we go! Step 2 complete.
2 drawer installation complete. Lined with water resistant carpet that was the closest colour match I could find. I have a second piece that attatches for when I want to extend out as a full bed. But this will be my every day setup.
