Yellowstone Bound July 27

Heading out to Yellowstone between July 27 and Aug 3. Starting from Whidbey Island, WA. Any recommendation for camping, route, ect. in the area outside of the park?

Bear tooth pass outside of cook city has multiple areas for camping off of forest service roads. Beautiful drive as well, it is bear country though. So if you plan on camping in that area be prepared for that.
