I was thinking I should actually do a build thread.

I got my FJ in 2010. It’s a 2008 Toyota FJ Cruiser Trail Teams edition. It already had an ARB bumper with IPF lights on the bumper, ARB roof rack, OME suspension, and ARB sliders. Sight unseen I was 98% sure I would buy it. Prior to even seeing it in person though I paid the previous owner to take his FJ to the local 4x4 store and install a Warn winch (M9000). My wife and I flew to Seattle, WA to buy and pick it up. The previous owner was very nice and toured us around Seattle. Great guy.

Everybody seemed to want to go on the roof rack:

First wheeling trip… man I thought that was pretty intense. Pretty tame by comparison now.

Skid plates were a must in my mind… and they sure did get used hard over the years:

(I forgot how good looking they were)

Allpro APEX sliders
(can’t find the pic)

Switched winches to an Engo winch after my Warn failed. So far I’m pretty happy with it. I think I’ve only used it twice though.

Icon suspension upgrade. 2.5” shocks, 3” Overland coils, rear shock shin-guards, MetalTech offset rear links,

Brake controller

Expedition One rear bumper with STC (smooth tire carrier)

Rotopax bracket and rotopax cans (two 4 gallon cans)

Two 40w solar panels trickle charging my batteries as we camp and the ARB fridge uses power.

Double quad trailer for the quads. Installed E-track to REALLY improve the security of the quads as they bounce down a trail. Put the kids to work of course ;)

The big box on the trailer I got made to store the camping gear. I got tired of getting out every 5 minutes and readjusting my load because of branches and limbs hitting the Rubbermaid totes and loosening my straps.

I’m sure I missed something…. So I’ll reserve a post right after this one….

Awesome rig! I'm a Jeep guy but contemplated getting an FJ awhile ago. Decided not to solely for the fact that I can take the top off my Jeep. Otherwise, I'd probably be driving an FJ right now. Ideally though, I'd own both.

So after beating on my A pillars and having my FM antennae ripped off.... I finally constructed some limb risers!! :rocker:

I sacrificed my shovel mount from my roof rack. It was using Fourtrex mounts and quick fists.

We bored out the quick fists so they would fit the larger ARB bar.

I used galvanized aircraft pvc coated cable and aluminum crimp thingy's... :nerd

I looped it around one of the main bars on my roof rack, looped it around the top rail of the roof rack and then down to the ARB bumper with a turnbuckle. I will have to undo these to access under my hood so I wanted it relatively simple to do.

Big thanks to my buddy Paul :rocker:
