Hi, I’m wondering if anyone has suggestions for where to pretension and/or learn basics of winching in the SF bay area. Thought about just finding a random tree somewhere but hard to find a secluded spot. Also interested in beginner classes if they exist. Appreciate any thoughts and sorry if someone has posted on this topic already. Thanks in advance.

Get a hold of @RubiRigo his group has put on the classes in the past. Rod can help get you connected to your local group.

You do not need a winch or any gear- we have everything! Learn first, buy your own gear later.

I did this in 2019 and learned a ton. Their driving class is excellent as well. Highly recommended.

We do various forms of trainings and will be discussing a recent winch recovery for a rolled Jeep over Labor Day weekend.

Check out the East Bay meet up on the calendar for this Sunday.
