Took a day trip checking out the Wickenburg Mountains here in Arizona. The trail was about 20 miles and took us the better part of 6 hours to complete. We recently picked up the book Guide to Arizona Backroads & 4-Wheel-Drive Trails second edition and followed trail #44IMG_5565.JPG

Fun road! Lockers were used a couple times and approach/breakover/departure angles were all put to the test. Long wheel based trucks might have a harder time. IMG_5568.JPG

6 hours of driving and we only ran into a couple of folks in side by sides. Perks of wheeling on a Monday I guess!

My beautiful wife exploring the approach angle limits of our FJ. I should have been a better spotter but I was too busy trying to get some cool pics of my awesome wife behind the wheel.

About the half way point the roads drops into a sandy wash and smooth's out quite a bit.

Nice trip report. When I lived in Phoenix, I used to go out to Vulture Mine all the time to photograph. I'm assuming this trail is near that area.
