Looking to buy a Wrangler after my back surgery. Looking to replace my 02 wrangler sport soft top. Finding them listed for 8 to 12,000 dollars. These jeeps also have rusted tubs and frames. Is rusted frames a common issue on jeeps? Trying to get into wildlife photography and want a reliable vehicle that can get into places. Unfortunately with back issues no longer able to do wrenching.

Jeeps hold their value because, like you, many people want to buy one. It is a case of supply and demand. As for rust, it depends on where the rig lived and what purpose it served. Living in Massachusetts = rust. Used as an offroad beater = rust. If you want something free of rust, I recommend looking for a mall crawler from Southern California.

They’re so expensive because people will still buy them. I love the looks of the 4 doors Jeeps though

Thank you, Jeeps are a nice vehicle. I’ve had 3 and loved them. Have to go thru my surgeries first and keep looking for a cheap non rusted one. They are very popular.

I think availability of easy term financing is fueling the pricing and demand on new vehicles. Just checked Jeep is offering 72 Month 0% APR on select models. As stated previously the used market in Jeeps is due to demand on a very popular vehicle.

I would love to finance a newer vehicle but with my accident and fighting workers comp my credit has been totally destroyed. It is amazing how popular jeeps are. I remember when I bought my last Jeep they weren’t this popular.

A large part of their popularity is due to the introduction of the 4-door Wrangler, the JKU. This made the Wrangler a whole lot more family friendly and turned a new segment of the market into Wrangler owners and greatly increased Jeep's SUV (it hurts to use that term for a Wrangler) market share. Once the Wranglers became a lot more visible to the general buying market, older Wranglers (TJ's and YJ's) and CJ's become a lot more popular.
