Hello everyone. New to the site. Looking for any information on finding places to overland and camp in cool places. NOT campground obviously. Any direction or help would be appreciated. Thanks!

Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
I forgot to say in the SOUTH EAST. I've found it much harder to find overland dispersed type camping in the southeast compared to Utah and Colorado. Obviously. Let me know. Thanks!!!

There are some places in Pisgah NF that you can camp dispersed, try looking in the SE under NC on this site
Where in the South East are you? I'm in Central Va and have seen lots of firetrails in the National Forest. I haven't driven them yet though.

I live in Cumming Ga. I've explored around the Asheville area, but I run into A LOT of closed metal gates when I try to get back in the woods. It really makes it hard to plan a trip ahead of time. I wish the GAIA GPS app would have updates on when people see closed gates. Like when people update stuff on Waze app. Know what I mean?

There's a guy named Trip Smith on youtube who is in Florida. He's mostly into stand up paddle boards and kayaks, but he does a lot of dispersed camping, so might be a useful resource for you.
the southeast totally blows when it comes to camping...we did some camping in state parks in north georgia and it was actually pretty good. north georgia is nice ...here is a link for dispersed in georgia.
