The huge clue is the pipe on the ground... it’s a steam boiler, but for what? Not sure...
Steam driven sawmill? Steam driven pump? Is there more context? That area was known for logging and mining, steam engines were often used.
an industrial boiler, visit the local Chamber of Commerce, maybe a mining museum, be verry cool to find out what it powered 100? years ago
where I live, in a forest, there are hundreds of steam donkeys in various states of decay. steam powered winches to haul logs. they were pretty light and easily moved to new logging cuts
The pipe in your first picture looks like it was the stack.
Yours looks pretty permanrnt with the stone foundation, like it powered some kind of manufacturing or processing plant.
Steam is an amazing power source. Most of our Aircraft Carriers and Nuclear Power Plants are steam powered, the nuclear part only boils the water.
