I have a question about callsigns used by Non-US operators in the US.
Perhaps a Canadian licence holder who operates in the US might be best to answer this one (just an idea).
As a foreign operator (Australian Standard licence holder) I can operate in the USA as if I am holding a General licence.
If a foreign operator came to Australia and used their licence they would add a "/ VK" (slash VK) to their callsign followed by the relevant licence zone number.
I believe the system is similar in the US only the locality code is a Prefix.
In the US there is more options as far as prefix letters (combinations starting with K, N or W), with K originally in the west and W in the east.
So for instance, if I was in Portland OR, what would the prefix be? perhaps K7/VK7VWK?
