I’ve been toying with the idea of getting into video production again, or at the very least making some vids for my family to watch in the future. I used to do some production at my last job, but the gear and budget was quite a bit different than what I can go for at the moment.

What are some less expensive options for decent quality video (not looking for 4k or anything) that are worth exploring, to film us exploring? I’ll probably grab a GoPro for sticking to the car, but what about some handheld options with decent audio as well?

I know I’m not going to get amazing results from a $300 camera, but I can’t afford a $3000 camera either. Editing stuff I think I have down, but my knowledge on cameras is out of date now.

Just pic yourself up a cheap dslr like a Canon t3i or Nikon d3300. I like the nikons just because they are a bit more robust. I have a D5500 and love it. That paired with some GoPros and you're set!
