We have a trailer that we just purchased and looking for security options for offroad trailers. Everything I've come across seems to be for none offeoad trailers. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Just take the tires off. That would slow them down some. They tell me locking the hitch isn't very effective for a determined thief, They can just use the safety chains or other chain to tow it a ways. I use a tire boot thingy like dis:

I would maybe go for the more expensive ones if the lock is better. I have some that actually cover the wheel lugs so the can't just use your spare tire. My favorite is a well-hidden claymore. But, it's messy and wakes the neighbors.

I think about this often. Most people say get insurance. My problem is if it does get stolen, then there’s the possible 1 to 1.5 year wait for a new one to be built with these crazy lead times. Then there’s the time to build it out. That’s a lot of time without a trailer.
The only real security I have found is leaving it hooked up to the tow vehicle anytime it’s outside the garage.
I may consider buying a gps tracker for it at some point. Then I have the best of both worlds. Recovery of my trailer and revenge.

Unfortunately that won't work for a beefy offroad tire. The space from the edge of the wheel/rim to the outer edge of the tire can only be about 8". My trailer has 33" bfg's and 15" tires and it's about 11.5".

German pewag chain with a high security lock; loop it through your wheel and around the axle. It’s super hard and can’t be cut with bolt cutters. You can add a chain sleeve to reduce abrasion damage to your wheels.
Nothing will stop a determined thief - the idea is to make it difficult enough that they move to an easier target.

there's no guarantee from theft, @ home my trailer is in the a shop building on my farm locked up, @ the camp site, I remove the Lock n Roll coupler, install the locking pin back into the receiver hitch on the tongue, remove the safety chains I have the rear stabilizer jacks lowered, usually the 270 awning is deployed, the shower ensuite is deployed stacked down & the rear storage compartment is locked. My trailer is insured for the value I have into it.

Looking into a high security chain like the pewag. I will also have a hidden/concealed GPS locator somewhere on there AND the trailer will be insured for all the contents.
