When I speced out our truck build the first thing I ordered, even before I ordered our F-350, was a Trail Ready rear bumper designed for the Norweld tray. Included was the Buckstop aluminum box and a tire carrier. I had the aluminum flatbed built to match the bumper At the time, July of 2024, I thought the cost of $3,400 with free shipping was outrageous. The total cost of installation for the flatbed, storage boxes, and the rear bumper was offset because they creditied me for the truck bed. Total installation was $1190, which was very fair. $4600 total. Fast forward only two years? Custom "Overlanding" shops are fetching $4,300 for the bumper and another $1200 to install it. Another $1600 to install the flatbed. $7,000 total. And charge you to dispose of the truck bed. That's a huge difference in costs.
All in all, if you can afford the Trail Ready bumpers, get one, because it will more than likely outlast your truck. I only cried once.
