The worst part of adventure

Wildfires and smoke and having to plan trips, then replan, and replan again when wildfires keep breaking out. Also, campfire nuts in the occasional CG we go to that have to have fires in windy conditions or who can’t build a proper fire, etc and smother us with smoke! The obsession with unneeded fires is crazy, and it’s not key to exploring or adventure IMO.

Enjoy the planning phase tbh
But I hate smoke in the eyes and lungs
And people that ruin things for the rest of us lol

No offense to the people from Nevada but I really hate the drive across NV to get to ID, UT, and CO.

From Sparks to Wendover just makes me want to fall asleep at the wheel.

There is very little in NV, esspecially taking 80 across. Every year I go down 93 from twin falls to vegas area which is not as bad.

Yeah I live off 80 on the CA side of Donner Pass so it's my primary route anytime I'm going east.

I disagree, there is so much to see in Nevada. Mining and geology, Pony Express, Pioneer trails and history, Petroglyphs, hot springs, Area 51, Black Rock Desert, Cave Lake, atomic test sites, red haired giants of Lovelock cave, Ichthyosaur fossils, etc. Most beautiful scenic views and mostly free camping. Just get off the pavement and explore!

Today I not only learned I-80 goes through Nevada but apparently it doesn’t change much from PA to NV
