I’ve been using a drone to supplement my overlanding photography over the past few years, and while I knew there were various pitfalls one could encounter when using a drone to get a different (and sometimes spectacular) perspective of various trails, I never saw this coming…

That's some really bad luck ,but the video from that drone should be good. After you retrieve the drone.
