The best time to start overlanding?

Hi!

I am new to overlanding and started looking for a suitable rig. It looks like 2023 is one of the worst years for rig purchasing. For example a 20 years old 4Runner today costs as much as it was selling in late 2015. Today's price is up 40% from the 2019 lows. I hope 2024 will be better and I will be able to justify buying a rig.

If you want to be on a budget you may have to think outside the box of Jeep and Toyota. Aftermarket items won’t be nearly as accessible but a Nissan Chevy or Dodge will be much less expensive and can be just as capable. On the other side if you plan to go all in just buy what your going to want in the beginning and save your self thousands down the road.
