Reminds me of our Christmas trip a few years ago - We had brand new X-ice tires and were loving the empty 10pm Christmas Eve drive to our parents town on an empty highway with a few inches of fresh snow. Then a pair of lights showed up in my rearview, getting closer, closer, closer.. ? Another SG Forester blows by in a cloud of snow.. and disappears into the dark..
They are "Winter Claw"? It's not a name I'm famailiar with. I bought them this summer for a really good price with 80% tread...so I wasn't picky about brand this time.
Mine worked excellently. I hit some sticky mud on the way up that didn't want to come off of my tires...which afforded me the chance to do a little offroad decoration on the sides and illustrate just how much I need mudflaps.
After that...not a single problem getting traction anywhere on dirt covered with 1-3 inches of fresh snow.
I did however catch a nail climbing up that little incline for pics...lots of people burn pallets right there.
