Even though it is a bad idea to hit Port Aransas on memorial day weekend I'll be heading down there tomorrow. Leaving the gear trailer and packing light to make it easier to get around.

Hoping to stake out a spot around lighthouse park for the first night to catch some sting ray and blue crab. Then I've got reservations at goose island the following night on the shoreline.

I'm curious, does anyone else eat sting ray? I tried it for the first time last year and found ours taste pretty good, even with just a little salt and pepper.

In between cayucos, and Morro Bay. Best time to hit it is first high tide in the am. Best fishing we had was 29 casts, 29 fish. We only fly fish for these little footballs

Let me know how it goes. The females should be coming closer to shore to lay their young in June. They give live birth, so be ready if you get one that's "ready to go". Trust me, it's an experience when that happens.
