I live in OC California and I usually like to do some primitive camping in the desert or Baja but now it is way to hot for that. My question is are there any good spots to primitive camp in southern Cal where it is not so hot?

Google "yellow posts sites" in san Bernardino National Forrest. Problem is they are not secret and can fill up by fridays. Thomas mtn area up behind Idyllwild is not as crowded.

we live in the south (Arkansas) & this time of the year is too hot for us, humid & the dew point up above 67%. Our camping time is late winter, early spring thru 1st week of June. This year we are above average temp's for this time of the year which shorten ours time for dispersed camping. Fall is deer hunting so we spend our time hunting in the fall (3 months).
