Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Looking to put a new rack on my rig, and was wondering if the Baja Racks are strong enough to support walking on top like the Gobi example in the photo attached? Any recs for sturdy racks? TIA.
I have a BajaRack on top of my 4Runner and it is incredibly sturdy. I have walked on it numerous times, had a ton of gear on it, etc. and had no issues. The steel and paint are very strong and durable so far. It has 6 legs that attach it to the roof and it is a solid single piece rack. View attachment 31951
Standing on it for photos. View attachment 31954
I have the ARB Alloy rack with mesh floor and love it. It's big, light and easily able to support anything, and will never rust!
Good luck in your search..

See Overland Bounds Roof Rack review on You Tube for a nice walk through of a Gobi Ranger Rack. His is on a TLC FJZ80 but I imagine it's largely the same. He walks on his all the time.
