Starting the fun ...

Hi all, not sure how many are reading here, there isn't much traffic on this subforum.

Last year we moved from the US to NZ and decided that this time we'd like to go a little bit bigger for our adventures. We used to a have more offroad vehices, like this in Europe:



And this one in the US:



And while I do have this one now in NZ:



We have decided to travel more comfortably this time around:



This time around we also decided NOT to do the build-out ourselves but instead have a local company to the honors.

Now, I'm wondering whether there are any meet-ups or like minded folks around here.

We are based in Christchurch, so if you are on the South Island, maybe we'll come across each other one day.

Welcome to New Zealand! That sounds like an exciting move. If you've already had experience with off-road vehicles in Europe, stepping up to something a bit bigger for longer adventures seems like a fun next step. Just checkout the Rally Points for meetups in your area. There you can filter by region.

And check out the Field Map for members in your region.

And if you have an idea for a meetup in your area, just go ahead and organize something if you would like. Just see who signs up, sometimes it takes a few tries to get something organized, but it is worth it, because a community thrives on participation. Good luck and have fun!

Hi Bjoern, we might actually do this. Currently I'm starting small, maybe we'll organize something with the company that currently builds our van here in Christchurch. Get the folks who have bought vans from them together for a weekend somewhere. We'll have to get back into it here, get to know the area. We'll see where this all leads us.

Currently, we are anxiously waiting to get our new vehicle, it should happen this coming week.
