Solo Trip shelter

  • Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.

As I plan to do some solo trips as well as with my kids, (they have their own dome tent).. i needed a small "swag" or tent that didn't take up too much room.
A traditional aussie swag runs into a couple of hundred dollars (AUD), and yes they are made tough, heavy canvas etc, i just couldn't justify the cost for how often it was going to be used...so I went with this guys...got to set it up today, thought i would share some pics....cheers

I've been using a pop tent for solo stuff. Not perfect as a bit short for me as I end up quite close the 'canvas'. The the plus side it's quick to set up and put away. Don't really even need to peg it out unless it's very windy. View attachment 5652 Always fits back in the bag (something I always struggle with). And despite being a big flat disc shape when packed fit easily into the rig on top of my other kit in the back.
Like the swag idea too but yes, very expensive.

That looks roomy...excellent !...i may look at the canvas swag in the future...but so many other things to do...my little tunnel tent will do for now...given we don't normally get severe winters here, hopefully it will do...keep you posted !

For myself I use a 3 season 2 man tent and It works great for me. It's easy too set up/take down and I have plenty of room.
