Enthusiast III
Good day everyone - being new, still working through my setup, and I truly appreciate all of the feedback. My new question:
Is there a solar generator (Jackery, Goal Zero, etc.) that is considered "weatherproof"? Situation: I'll be running in a mid-size truck. Although there will be a RTT, items mounted on bed rack, etc., the bed will still be open to the elements, dust, etc. I wanted to run the fridge off of the portable unit, while having the solar generator charging on 12V in the bed while I am driving. Just curious about the weatherproof-ness (is that a word?) and overall durability of the solar generators.
Other two options:
1) Keep solar generator in backseat while driving, in weather, etc. and run long cords for devices to be powered by the unit.
2) Secure/mount the solar generator in a box (Pelican, etc.), and modify the box to have cords run to/through it. (Wasn't sure how much these units needed to "breathe")
Or, are there other options I have not thought of?
Thank you in advance for any insight.
Bryan
