Track width is the topic. I see so many Jeeps with wide tires, wide plastic fenders, stock wheel offsets (6.2) to create a wide stance, yet they can navigate the "narrow" Devils Punch bowl of Schofield Pass. I have watched many videos, mostly boring, watching track width, wheel placement and paying attention to the vehicles width.

Reason I ask, I am a full size with a 4.5" offset. So I am 81" wide. Jeeps are normally 60-70" wide depending of the set up. So I am 4-5" wider. Basically a tire width. All the videos I have seen show more than a 12-18" inches on either side of the tire as they traverse the narrow pass so I am confident that I could fit. Break over angle and overall length is not my concern for this trail. The blue Jeep in the pic below is at least 70+" wide...

Being that I feel confident with my driving and wheel placement mindset, Who recently ran the Schofield that can talk about the width of the Punchbowl. I am not worried about off camber as I am not top heavy. All my weight is inside the bed and lower than the bed rails.

Hold my beer might be the last words you hear!

Been there, done that. Will not go back. Me and my slightly lifted Tacoma made it ok. Barely. I knew nothing about it beforehand, just tripping around. Some beautiful sights for sure. One spot was so narrow my front tire sank over the edge. No backing uphill, wet and slippery. Just turned the wheel as much as I dared and punched it a little and it came back up. Scariest thirty minutes of my life! Probably shouldn't do it alone. Somebody needs to tell them where to recover the body, lol.

Not sure anything much wider than my Tacoma would make it. I remember, three? years ago, having only and inch or two on each side in one spot. I was doing that rough section going downhill, towards Marble. Maybe going uphill, from Marble, you may have the option to back out. Recourse if you will. The really pretty spots are on the South side.
