My daughter wants to put a RTT (just her and her dog) on her Kia Sportage but is worried about the strength of her roof to support it. Does anyone have experience with this?

The roof of the car itself is designed to handle the weight in case of a rollover. Be picky about which one you want. I use the freespirit rtt because it is half as tall or thick as the others are when closed up. The other option is a small trail to mount it to.
