Guest, we will be conducting site maintenance August 4th and some downtime is expected. At this time Rally Point and the Member Map will also become an app-only feature for long-term security and stability. A few days after this maintenance, a major upgrade revision to the forum site will occur.
Dynamic load is significantly less than static load, it is generally right around 100lbs for a stock roof rack. Dynamic is your load when vehicle is in motion, less of an issue at 10 -15 miles hour way more of an issue at highway speeds. Don't assume find out.
About 120 for your rack dynamic, static could be the same, double or 3 times so 240- 360 at the max
Unless you go light on the tent your tent will run about 130+
Leaving 110 lbs for you and your gear, possibly 230.
Just helped my neighbor pick out a 2020 TRD Pro. Full meal deal. Looked up roof rack info that is contradictory. Most say 300lbs dynamic and 600lbs static... as in weight of RTT + people inside.
What I also found and what adds to the confusion is placement of the movable crossbars. Each one is load weighted to 132lbs... each.
Only issue I might have with using that OEM rack is the height the RTT would sit. Probably worth investing in an improved rear sway bar?
@USStrongman yea it is pretty tough the only rack I have seen that high for those trucks is the Baja rack. Maybe they upgraded it, stock racks have notoriously low weight ratings.
