Roof basket or platform?

Curious of thoughts here. Have a Landcruiser Prado. A small Landcruiser to you Americans. I have roof rails and racks but want storage up top.
Keen on the Yakima mega warrior with extension, or a eBay type platform. Front runnner rack systems etc are really expensive here so kinda priced out for occasional use.
Will carry camp gear up there and kayak, bike etc occasionally.
Keen on peoples views.

This was over kill packing, I had to bring extra for some friends and didn’t really pack it well but as you can see it fits a good amount of gear.

Build your own, I built this flat one basing it off of the front runner slim.

I would go have a local off road company/welder build a flat rack for you out of round tubing. Much cheaper. Then you can choose to either leave it the way it is, or attach a basket to it when needed

What model basket do you have?

I prefer a flat rack for my use. But for the OP, I’d suggest Yakima/Thule as they are the experts in bike/Kayak mounts. Add a small basket for gear.
