Rock Sliders

Looking around online has yielded limited results for Full-Size truck rock sliders. Is there a practical cliff you fall off when you go full-size for rock sliders sturdy enough for protection/lift points? Anyone have a commercial source? I haven't looked at local machine/fabrication shops yet as I'm hoping to find something with a pedigree of performance behind it.

Protection from bumping things? Sure.

If you slide on them, or jack a 7000# truck up by them, you're going to mess some stuff up. Bend the body, bend the frame, or bend the slider. I've seen people bend one ton frames due to the leverage of frame mounted sliders and the weight of the truck. Truck frames are quite ductile.

There is a slider for the PowerWagon that cradles the frame, and does seem tough enough to jack or slide, but I don't recommend doing so. And it's extra heavy and expensive.

I hear a scrape, I back up and try another line. Even lowly Raptor rocker guards do fine by me, for that. All the Ford sliders appear to be body mounted. Some bolt to frame and body. Hopefully with a bushing, as you can't connect Al to Steel.

Like i asked before how long do you need in inches? Any competent fabrication shop would be able to build you some, most welders would do it for a case of beer if you get the metal and a bender.

Approx 100" to 110" for my CCSB truck

Haven't measured it out yet, but my concern was less with what fits, and more about if, due to it's size, they can be load bearing.

If they are welded on i dont think you would have a problem with em flexin too much. I know a few guys with full sizes runnin trail gear 78 inch sliders on k5s and tahoes, they are able to lift their trucks with a hilift jack and ive seen em hit rocks and they didnt have any noticable flex.

If you want full size you will have to either make your own or stop in a fab shop and have a talk with em about building you a set. Any way you go about it they will likely cost between $250-$400 depending on who makes em and material thickness.

Another option is use the member maps and send a message to other members in your area and see if any one wants to have a fabrication/shop day... we have been tossing that idea around my area as we have several members with tools and no funds for projects, while others have projects with out the tools or knowledge

With that being said here in the northwest I can buy the materials for under $250. So in NC I would think it would be about the same. Then you just need a buddy with a tube bender and welder.

Had 'em shipped. They came FedEx Ground.

Wasn't cheap, but man, they're nice quality. I got the DOM units & ordered including powder coating.

A friend of mine just stopped into another fab shop and got quoted a little over 1k for frame sliders built and welded on. Im a fabricator and ive been thinking about building a set of sliders for my CCLB come summer time

When it comes time for sliders i am straight up going to buy a Harbor Freight pipe bender and hodge podge some together with 1.25" schedule 40 steel pipe. But my Montero is a feather weight compared to these trucks.
