My Dad lives in Coronado National Memorial. In 2011, the Monument Fire started across the border in Mexico and came across. My Dads place and his neighbors place were the first properties to be hit by the fire. The houses were saved but many of his vehicles and motorcycles were lost. Among them was a 1961 Barton cargo trailer.
My brother and I along with a bunch of friends are doing BDR trips about once a year with 4x4s and dual sport motorcycles. My old YJ is pretty small so cargo space is limited. Last year, about 3/4ths the way through the trip, my brother damaged the front brake line on his bike. We decided to build an off road trailer that would be capable of carrying a motorcycle.
We are calling it the Phoenix Moto-Toter.
First pic, bringing to my house from my Dads place.

After removing original axle. The axle was warped and bearings toasted, literally. Here we are figuring out what we need to reinforce.

Strengthening the floor and tongue as well as adding cross beams for the independent torsion axles.

Platform for hauling bikes if necessary. Rear platform can mounted in reverse direction if not needed.
