So I was wandering through Home Depot a few weeks ago and came across this little gem. It is an 18v cordless air compressor that runs off of the Ridgid Tools Lithium Batteries.

It is a really nice size and you don't have to mess with raising your hood to hook any cables up to your battery or whatever. It uses 1 or two of the lithium batteries. I bought 2 of the 4.0ah batteries for use with this item.

I can't tell you how pleased I am with this. It airs up the tires really fast. It will build pressure up in the tank to about 100 lbs quickly and it'll take about 1-2 minutes per tire. Compared to others I have used it is really fast.

Another reason I decided to purchased this item instead with going with the traditional "on board air" is that there are many other items made by Ridgid that you can use with these batteries that would be extremely helpful for what we do.

1. Fan - my wife has to sleep with a fan at night.
2. Lights - flood lights
3. USB charger - hooks directly to the battery
4. radio with phone chargers
5. Reciprocal saw for cutting limbs etc.
6. Impact Gun

I made a video to show you how easy it is to use.

I ordered the flood light and the USB charger today as we are going out this weekend. Let me know if you have questions.

How many tires can it do per tank? This could be super useful especially with a 12v charger.
The tank is only a 1 gallon tank so it’s really doesn’t hold much. But on the batteries I can Say this. It ran constantly while I aired up my tires from 20lb-40 lb and then did another guy who was with me. So it’ll do 2 vehicles per battery charge with the 4.0 batteries. I am Interested to see what it would do with the 5.0 batteries.

I have an advantage because my FJ cruiser has a built in 110 charger in the rear. So while driving I can charge the batteries if I’m going to be gone on an extended trip. So if you have this option it would benefit you even greater because you have the option to power all kinds of accessories with the batteries. Not just the compressor.[/QUOTE]

Thanks for this. I was just looking at all the different compressors and trying to figure out what works best for me and then I stumbled onto this. I think I'm going to go with this setup. I don't like "single-use" equipment and this scratches that itch since you can use the compressor and batteries for all sorts of things. Plus my Taco also has the AC outlet in the bed that can charge the batteries on the go.

Who makes that hose setup you got going there?
