US Southwest Recurring - North Central Texas Meet & Greet

Anyone here spent time in Big Bend NP? Looking at a possible spring trip to take the RV trailer to a spot there and then do day trips into the park. Would prefer to enjoy drives with the family on some of the rougher roads to avoid some of the traffic. Truck is decently equipped for off road with sliders, full skids, small lift, upgraded tires. Old Ore road looks like it might be too much but seeking any input on recommendations.
Several of us have been there a time or two. We did Old Ore rd in 2023. It had rained a few days before so there was a couple of muddy spots.

Did you encounter any issues with ground clearance with your Tahoe? Some of the photos I have found online make parts of the road appear pretty rough but it might be more the perspective of the camera. I am an amatuer off-roader so don’t want to bite off more than I can chew.

There was one muddy spot where everyone bottomed out. No one got stuck, because we kept momentum going. It’s a very scenic road.

FYI - I will not be able to make this month's meeting on Saturday (9/6). If anyone else still wants to meet, please feel free to do so. I believe
San Gabriel Park is now back open.

FYI - The next monthly meet-up is this Saturday, Oct 4th at 0900. We will be in the usual location at San Gabriel Park.

The TAO is this weekend, so many of y'all may be attending that instead. However, I won't be attending this year. While the .gov is shut down, I gotta change financial priorities. So,, anyone who isn't going to TAO is more than welcome to stop by San Gabriel park for awhile.

The next meet up is this Sat, Nov 1. Looking to see how many are expecting to attend.

Based on the overwhelming response, I'm going to go ahead and cancel tomorrow's meet up. :sunglasses:
Happy Halloween

Monthly Meetup for Dec & Jan are cancelled. Enjoy your holidays.

Happy New Year. It's that time again. The next meetup is this Sat, Feb 7 @ 0900. Weather seems like it will be nice and hope to see everyone there. We'll miss you Rex.

Greetings all,

I've been away for quite a long time and looking to come to a meet up soon. Saw that there's one this Saturday but when I open the app I don't see it in the Rally Point area there. I'm new to the app so just wanted to see if I'm missing something or something isn't turned on etc.

Thanks

The app is kinda funky now. The rally point link should work from the first post of this thread here:

If you need the address;
