Has anyone got experience of using RAM track mounts? They look ideal to build a pretty versatile mounting system in a rig.
Looking at the center load composite version and wondering if anyone has tried this with, say, the weight of an Ipad or other tablet etc... what are the like for stability - assuming reasonable length arms used etc...

I used the Aluminium version in my f250 and it held a full-size ipad, phone, and gps just fine. The key is to mount it to an area where the dash isn’t very flexible.

Yup, it'll get screwed/bolted through to the main steelwork of the dash.
What length arm do you use with the Ipad? Mine is a standard double socket arm (3" long) for 1" ball and is fairly steady on a suction mount.

I don’t have the F250 anymore but I had a longer piece, I want to say it was 5 or 6 inches long so I could mount other products.

I still us a RAM system in my F150 but a different base.

I didn’t use track mounts but rather a ball base and used the “C” sized stuff. The default is “B” and far to small (wobbly) for an iPad over bumpy roads. I did have to use a small arm to stabilize the mount because of the iPad and ham radio mount but it’s really solid!
