Good afternoon all, how do you guys plan your trips during this pandemic? I understand these are different times, but I had a camp site up north near mount Shasta and was planning on site seeing up there. However, the campgrounds cancelled my reservation due to COVID and I just seen today Burney Falls is also closed. I live about 5.5 hours from this area so I’d hate to get up there and even forest roads be closed. Does anyone know if they would close forest roads? Many OB members have helped out in finding routes for me and I am hoping I can still make this trip happen. Thanks guys!

National Forests are open. However, campgrounds May or may not be. The easiest way to find out what is open and closed is to call the National Forest Service Ranger Station for the area you wish to explore and ask what the regulations are for that area for that timeframe due to ever changing conditions.

Sounds easy enough. Thanks for your time!

No problem. It’s easier said than done... several calls and emails might have to be made... don’t be shy with the answering machine. Leave a detailed message and let the rangers know you plan on sending a fallow up email... some ranger stations are working remotely and rely on their email and only check their voice mail once or twice a week.
