I recently completed a semester long course at my local college to be certified as a Wilderness First Responder (WFR). The class was informative, challenging, and a bit stressful as far as testing went. Basically it is medical knowledge for the first people on scene to be able to stabilize a patient well enough for transport to definitive care (i.e trailhead/ambulance). The curriculum was provided through SOLO, whom some of you may have heard of. Also, the WFR training is sometimes put on by NOLS I believe.

I am wondering if there is anyone else on here who has any wilderness based medical training that could be applied to the overlanding experience? What are some big things that stuck out to you, that could be shared with the rest of the community? What do you wish you knew?

For any Alaska members, I have a flyer for a two day first aid course happening at the end of August in Palmer, that I will be posting in the NW section of the forums.
