I want to give @Rubilocal a huge shout out for recommending I check out Emerald Bay during my trip to South Lake Tahoe. Unfortunately the road was closed due to snow fall but we pulled in on the side of the road and hiked in a little bit.
We left at 4:00am and headed out for the 9 hour drive. The 395 Highway can be beautiful..and terrible.

Over winter break, my family and I spent 3 nights in DV. Highlights include Mengel Pass, The Racetrack, Lippincott Rd. and the Saline Valley. Here's the video I put together....
Here's one of our many ventures into overlanding we did last year. We saw some absolutely beautiful parts of the country as well as some unique roadside attractions.
