Last weekend we visited Hideaway lake 
about 40 miles east from Estacada on Hwy 224. Here is LINK to the location.
We spend a couple days over there for Memorial Day. Awesome place, with tons of trails to explore with our Jeep. We used our home made trailer to camp out. It all worked well and my daughter had a blast.
The campground is pretty basic, but the restrooms were clean and the space between camps was big. There are probably about 12 zones to camp. The access to the lake is very easy, walking distance from any of the spots.
We used it before it was officially opened this year, so it was free for us, but we had to do a bit of clean up, since the park rangers were not done cleaning yet for branches and such.
There are also plenty of little other lakes to explore. Here is a video of the trip.

Barlow wagon road , great drive and a neat piece of history . Plenty of camping spots along the river

Bennett Pass Road and Badger Lake road . really bumpy and dusty in the summer, can be rather muddy in the winter and it's mostly closed in the winter . Great views along the way , some spots to camp .
Badger lake gets real low at the end of summer , it should be about 10-15 feet deep here .

There's not a ton of trails on here yet but it seems to be growing little by little .

obdr is a fantastic route , so much to see so

As soon as the snow starts falling in the hills just about every FS road can turn into a adventures . Just go PREPARED even if it's a quick day trip take overnight supplies , fire making gear , recovery gear and let at least 2 people know where your heading and when you should be back .

browns camp is a great place to head to , they have a bit of everything from gravel roads to mild trails to triple black diamond rock pits . Haven't been there in years ,hoping to make the trip once the jeep is done .

Nice. Been wanting to check that out, but I'm thinking I should prolly get some rear recovery points mounted first.
